As part of the Alberta Innovates group of companies, InnoTech Alberta and C-FER Technologies (C-FER) provide applied research services to industry and government.
InnoTech Alberta and C-FER connect research with industry to solve real-world challenges. They test, de-risk, scale, and validate ideas and prototypes, increasing the odds for successful and accelerated commercialization and market adoption.

Bridging the gap between early-stage research and commercial application, InnoTech Alberta offers access to world-class expertise and industrial-scale facilities to make new or upgraded technologies, processes, and products market-ready.
Rooted in a century-long legacy of innovation — beginning with the Science and Industrial Research Council in 1921—InnoTech Alberta operates key facilities across Edmonton, Calgary, Devon, and Vegreville. Today, a dedicated team of over 220 specialists is advancing innovation in bio-industrial, energy, environmental, and data technologies.
Part of Alberta Innovates since 1999, C-FER provides applied engineering services and testing to advance safety, efficiency, and environmental performance across the energy industry.
Operating out of two large-scale facilities in Edmonton, C-FER’s team of over 90 specialists focus on production enhancement, hydrogen energy, geothermal applications, carbon capture, and the strategic repurposing of oil and gas assets.
