Alberta Innovates Network

Alberta's innovation system is complex, dynamic, and growing.  The Alberta Innovates "network" refers to the interconnected community of these organizations, which are dedicated to the delivery of services to various groups of clients of the Alberta innovation system.  It includes a large number of stakeholders and service providers.

  • Alberta Innovates corporations
  • research organizations (both federal and provincial)
  • post-secondary institutions
  • research hospitals
  • research groups
  • research institutes
  • companies
  • industry groups and consortia
  • non-government organizations dedicated to providing services to innovators and innovative companies
  • organizations charged with providing access to capital and developing the venture capital industry, such as the Alberta Enterprise Corporation
  • government departments and agencies, including municipal, provincial, and federal levels

The need for the network is dictated by the fact that no single organization, constituting the research and innovation system, is able to address the needs of all clients in all situations and at every stage of development.  The Alberta Innovates Connector is working with all service providers in the system to strengthen and coordinate the network.  The Connector helps its clients find the service that is tailored to their specific needs.
