Alberta Bio Future (ABF) and its sub-programs focus primarily on projects that add value to biomass in agriculture and forestry, and create new and improved bioindustrial products and bioindustrial technologies.
The Alberta Bio Future, Biomaterials Pursuit sub-program was launched in November 2017, offering funding of up to $300,000. It is designed to expand on previous Alberta Innovates initiatives and funding in the bioeconomy.
Ten proposals were funded and projects are underway. This sub-program is now closed to new applications.
Who was eligible to apply?
- Researchers based in Alberta, and researchers elsewhere conducting bioindustrial projects with a benefit to Alberta.
- Operating companies or industry groups based in Alberta.
