Alberta Small Business Innovation and Research Initiative: Raytheon Cyber Challenge

In the massively complex and chaotic environment of cyberspace, owners and defenders of interconnected networks require controlled environments to accurately and safely assess their defenses and effectiveness of day-to-day operations.

Enormous amounts of data are generated and distributed from and across critical infrastructure operators as they are converging their Operational Technologies with emerging technologies such Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) or Unmanned Autonomous Systems (UAS) technologies.

Data intensive Critical Infrastructure Systems are becoming more reliant on data driven decisions resulting in enhanced insights and substantial savings; however, connected devices are subjected to risks of cyberattacks. As systems become more connected, the risks of cyberattacks become greater. The ability of OT, IIoT and UAS enabled technology to easily connect with existing software and control systems further expands the threat.

To mitigate and counter this economic threat to our industries, Raytheon plans to implement an Alberta based fit-for-purpose Cyber Operations, Development and Evaluation (CODE) Centre, which includes a cyber range capability. Our cyber range capabilities will provide a broad set of Critical Infrastructure Tools (CITs) and a unique range automation capability that will help strengthen the stability, security and performance of cyber infrastructures for Operational Technologies (OT), IIoT and UAS based systems used by large global companies, SMEs and government agencies.

Alberta Innovates and Raytheon Canada Limited are challenging Alberta Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to bring forward high-potential solutions to help counter the escalating threats of cyberattack and protect Alberta's economic future.

Showcase your innovative cyber security solution with one of the world's foremost leaders in advanced technology. Are you up for the Challenge?
