The industry roundtable on November 1 and 2, 2011 was designed to learn about industry efforts and views, assess Alberta’s current situation and help identify ways to accelerate industry, government, and community efforts where possible in order to more rapidly develop a bio-industrial sector. This is part of a broader BioEconomy (BioE) initiative led by Alberta Innovates Bio Solutions that will include input from a range of stakeholder groups. The BioE initiative has several objectives focused on creating the space for cross-sector dialogue; determining issues; identifying barriers, strategies and opportunities; and defining a future direction. This involves receiving valued input from leading industry members (vis-a-vis this November roundtable) as well as from other stakeholder groups.
