EDGE is a clinical research management system, which like a clinical trial management system (CTMS) is designed to track all activities associated with a clinical study or clinical trial. Features in the system allow nurses, coordinators, investigators, and administrators with the ability to track their day-to-day work and get an appropriate real-time view of clinical research activity within a hospital or across organizations in Alberta.

The ACRC is supporting the implementation of EDGE in Alberta to:

• Reduce the burden on clinical research front-line workers
• Improve the quality of research management
• Support and promote best practice within the clinical research process
• Facilitate and promote a collaborative research environment
• Enable the seamless exchange of information across organizations
