Alberta Bio Future (ABF) and its sub-programs focus primarily on projects that add value to biomass in agriculture and forestry, and create new and improved bioindustrial products and bioindustrial technologies.
The ABF Equipment Utilization sub-program is closed. In, total, four projects received almost $260,000 in funding over the life of the program.
About the program
The Alberta Bio Future, Equipment Utilization sub-program launched March 12, 2015, and ended March 31, 2018. It focused on the scale-up and pilot development of bioindustrial products and bioindustrial technologies, using publicly owned equipment for the mechanical conversion of biomass.
Eligible projects included some or all of the following activities:
- Scale-up, pilot, pre-commercial and commercial processing activities, biomass conversion and characterization.
- Biomass characterization with direct application to the bioindustrial sector.
Information on biomass characterization developed in the projects will be made publicly available to advance the bioindustrial sector.
