The next big solution could be discovered at Inventures 2019 in Calgary
— Thirty tech startups to pitch big ideas to panel of leading venture capitalists —
(Calgary, Alberta) May 2, 2019 – Thirty brilliant finalists from around the world will compete in the international pitch competition at Inventures2019, June 5-7, in Calgary, Alberta.
“Each of the finalists is unique and is advancing technology that could be world-changing,” said Alberta Innovates CEO Laura Kilcrease. “Inventures is becoming the hotbed for tech stars with breakthrough ideas. It’s the place to make global connections, meet investors, and to gain first-hand knowledge of the incredible economic potential this province holds.”
An international advisory committee selected finalists from more than 230 submissions that hail from six continents. Each finalist receives free registration and space to demonstrate their technologies before they face-off in a final round of pitches on Thursday, June 6. Six teams, one from each category, will each go home with $10,000.
Inventures pitch judges are the who’s who of the venture capital world, and include leaders such as Chinedu Enekwe, founding partner of AffinitiVC; Ha Nguyen, Vice President of McRock Capital, and Kate Shillo Beardsley, Partner at Upslope Ventures.
Judges evaluate presenting companies on functionality, potential, creativity, scalability and the quality of their teams.

Tickets to the three-day conference are available for $599 until June 4, or $299 for groups of eight or more.
