This specific funding opportunity supports three priority areas:

  2. Clinical Trials – Projects focused on either:

    1. Developing enabling tools, methodologies, and solutions to accelerate the conduct of clinical trials in Alberta (e.g., AI-enabled protocol development); OR

    2. Clinical trials piloting innovations that aim to provide benefits to Albertans with at least one trial site in Alberta

  3. Health System Transformation – Projects focused on either:
    1. Implementation readiness – Developing novel care models or advancing the implementation of innovative care models with a pathway to adoption in Alberta. Applications are recommended to include evidence of appropriate health system stakeholder engagement for implementation; OR
    2. System enablement readiness – Strengthening system-level conditions that enable uptake of innovations (e.g., policy, data, reimbursement, procurement).

Objectives of LevMax-Health are to:

  • Accelerate research commercialization, market readiness, clinical evidence, implementation readiness, and health system-level adoption efforts in Alberta.
  • Support research and innovation clients in Alberta.
  • Leverage partnerships towards a healthy economy and population in Alberta.
