Globally, people recognize that innovation is the key to economic sustainability and growth. Innovation itself is largely initiated and driven by individuals with advanced degrees in fields such as science, engineering, health, finance and economics who operate within strong, interconnected research and innovation systems.
Our Technology Development Advisors (TDAs) provide coaching, community, and capital to high potential, high growth, technology or knowledge-based Alberta small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) who are at the committing, validating, or scaling stage of their client journey. TDAs are senior business advisors who provide one-on-one guidance, community connections, and assist with identifying non-dilutive capital to support entrepreneurs and SMEs in technology or knowledge-based industries developing innovative technology.
Regional Innovation Networks are entrepreneur-centric, community-based networks providing programs and services to accelerate growth of technology and knowledge-based businesses in those jurisdictions. Access your Regional Innovation Network to learn more about what your community has to offer.
In addition to building human research and innovation capacity, the programs and services we offer through Alberta Innovates and our subsidiaries provide end-to-end coverage through the client journey.
We support discovery and applied research at post-secondary institutions through several portfolios.
Our colleagues at Innotech Alberta and C-FER Technologies have world-renowned expertise and capacity in applied research are keystones in the province’s research and innovation (R&I) system. They support the de-risking and testing of technologies for SMEs and large multinational companies.
Our sector-based business lines work closely with their stakeholders to understand their needs and identify opportunities to solve their problems.
