AbSPORU provides expertise, training, and resources to increase Alberta’s capacity for patient-oriented research and fostering a learning health system.
AbSPORU is dedicated to improving the lives of all Albertans through a focus on patient-oriented research.
AbSPORU bridges the gap between research evidence and health decisions, collaborating closely and purposefully with patients from diverse communities and with a network of healthcare partners to improve health outcomes for all Albertans.
This initiative focuses on continuous improvement of the patient and provider experience, health system performance and cost through effective, evidence-based knowledge translation and implementation.
AbSPORU is jointly funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Alberta Innovates and the University Hospital Foundation. Alberta Innovates has supported AbSPORU since its creation in 2012 through financial and in-kind contributions.
