Empowering Hydrogen Safety: Innovative Nanoarchitected Sensors for Sustainable Energy

This project aims to enhance hydrogen safety by developing rapid, durable, and self-powered hydrogen sensors capable of detecting leaks in under one second. Through three core projects, the team will create nanostructured sensors with improved response times and resistance to environmental factors, integrate these into cost-effective wireless systems, and collaborate with Alberta-based startup Phase Sensor for commercialization. The initiative also includes training 11 HQP, supporting both technology development and workforce readiness for Canada's hydrogen economy.
