Development of smart sensing deicing surfaces using Asphaltene-based carbon fibers

The proposed work will serve as a scientific addition to existing research and will result in a multi-functional smart ABCF based heating pavement system. The success of this project will be demonstrated via placement of ABCF based SECFRC potentially at a ski resort near the border of B.C./ Alberta where snow causes issues for pedestrian/ vehicular traffic. Even though the proposed technology demonstration targets one application, developed carbon-fiber reinforced concrete has wide applications as a construction material.
