Keynote Arielle Gross Samuels, Head of Global Business Strategy and Engagement at Facebook to share a global perspective on opportunities and challenges facing women and how they can be supported in innovation

On September 15, 2020 Alberta Innovates and SHEInnovatesAlberta will deliver a unique virtual event designed to support leaders, entrepreneurs and investors. Women Leading Innovation offers insights with influential women who are changing the innovation game.

The half-day event opens with keynote Arielle Gross Samuels, Head of Global Business Strategy and Engagement at Facebook who will share a global perspective on opportunities and challenges facing women and how they can be supported in innovation. The event also includes expert panel discussions with many Alberta women entrepreneurs such as Cara Wolf, CEO of Ammolite Analytix and Laura Hartwell, VP Western Canada from IBM discussing the impact women are making in Artificial Intelligence.

"In Alberta and around the globe female leaders, entrepreneurs and investors are pushing on barriers and bringing their A-game to innovation and technology in their workplace," says Jennifer Koury, Calgary business leader and co-founder of SHEInnovatesAlberta. "These strong and empowering speakers will share how they shaped their own pathways that created unique opportunities to contribute positive social and economic impact in their communities."

SHEInnovatesAlberta is the first Canadian chapter piloted by the UN Women's Global Innovation Coalition for Change. SHEInnovatesAlberta celebrates and inspires women innovators and entrepreneurs who are solving complex challenges in Alberta.
