ATCO Home of the Future – Autonomous Grid Load Management
The purpose of the Home of the Future project was to validate the effectiveness of a non wires alternative (NWA) at the grid's edge to manage and orchestrate electric demand at the distribution level, namely distributed energy resources (DERs) such as electric vehicle (EV) chargers, electric water heater tanks or other energy intensive equipment behind the meter. The project included assessing business impacts compared to traditional capital infrastructure upgrades.
