Alberta Innovates is the engine of innovation across Alberta and that engine will be in a high gear next week at a major conference focused on economic development for the province.  

Alberta Innovates is pleased to be a gold sponsor for the Economic Developers of Alberta (EDA) Xperience 2024 Leaders’ Summit and Conference in Kananaskis April 10-12. EDA is an organization representing economic developers from municipalities across Alberta who all focus on building and attracting business to this province and play a key role in helping connect businesses to services and programs available.  

Five representatives of Alberta Innovates will be speaking on various panels and sessions during the conference highlighting our work to promote the growth of businesses and opportunities within Alberta. This sold-out conference also has an online streaming platform where you can also hear from Alberta Innovates experts and other panelists.

On Wednesday, April 10 from 2:30-5pm Alberta Innovates Vice President of Health Tim Murphy, Associate Vice President of Investments Doug Holt and Marlene Arana, director of Inventures will be featured on three separate panels highlighting economic opportunities in health & biotech, technology and digital transformations and the visitor economy.   

Other experts from Alberta Innovates will be speaking Thursday about funding opportunities for economic development as well as information integrity and societal impacts of AI. Friday, Alberta Innovates is pleased to sponsor the closing plenary featuring ATB Financial Chief Economist Mark Parsons.   

Representatives of InnoTech Alberta will also be attending the conference to highlight partnership opportunities available for industry.  

Alberta Innovates offers numerous programs and services that support economic development within Alberta. These can include funding programs for researchers and entrepreneurs working in sectors such as startup companies, health research, agriculture, emerging technologies and much more.
