Alberta Innovates is pleased to announce an additional $2.1 M investment in research and innovation projects that will slow the spread and lessen the impact of COVID-19. A panel of provincial partners recommended these seven projects for funding from a pool of 28, excellent, Alberta-led applications that ranked highly (4.00+) on the recent federal competition titled: COVID-19 Rapid Research Funding Opportunity (May 2020). This secondary review by Alberta Innovates, Alberta Health and Alberta Health Services focused on strategic relevance, feasibility, and potential to impact the health and/or economic wellbeing of Albertans.
