Support for Start Ups: Ideating and Concepting

A workshop for SMEs on how to navigate government funding from Western Economic Diversification and its provincial counterpart.

Western Economic Diversification Canada and Alberta Economic Development, Trade, and Tourism partner to deliver this workshop titled “Show Me The Money”, a workshop on how to navigate government funding landscape for entrepreneurs.

Darrell Skoreyko, founder, Serious Labs, delivers a presentation on his experience successfully receiving government funding and the impact it has had on his company, followed by a series of other presentations from experts across Canada:

"Making Canada a country of discoverers and innovators" by Irene Mikawoz, Deputy Director, Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC);

"Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP)" by Julie Kennett, Acting Regional Director, Industrial Research Assistance Program, National Research Council of Canada;

"Show Me The Money" by Carla Otto, Director of Regional Innovation, Alberta Innovates; and

"Ideating and Concepting: Support for Start Ups" by Elliot Hewitt, Business Development Manager, Western Economic Diversification Canada.

The above presenters then participate in a panel discussion moderated by Michael Kerr, Technology Development Advisor, Alberta Innovates.
